2018 Calendar

January 2018 — Sewing Hacks – Each member brings their own sewing hacks to share with the group. These are things that you use in your sewing room that are not normally thought of as sewing tools but have become very useful to you in completing certain tasks. Let’s see how many new “tools” we can add to our sewing room to make our sewing jobs easier!

February 2018 – Zentangles on Fabric – Linda Garthaffner, a certified Zentangles instructor will share her Zentangles projects as well as teach us how to do Zentangles on paper. There is a kit fee for those who want to try it out.

March 2018 – Round Robin rotating between three separate programs. Jenna will show us how to make her notebook/organizer cover; Lynette will teach us how to make bibs with sleeves and Mary Mead will show us how to make a cell phone holder. We had so much fun last June changing tables and learning lots of new projects all in one morning.

April 2018 – Linda Grainer’s program will be on hexagons based on the past three years block of the month from Katja Marek’s New Hexagon book and Perpetual Calendar. Three totally different ways to create something exciting and different.

May 2018 – Carolyn Howerton will show us the new craze of Miss Rosie’s Cake/Cupcake recipe patterns using paper piecing with Layer Cake packs (10” squares) and charm packs (5” squares) Amazing the different ways that you can mix and match these patterns.

June 2018 –Jennie is going to teach us how to make travel tea bag holders

August 2018 – Sheila will be doing a program on sewing with fur.

September 2018 — Avery Quarles is coming to show us his bargello quilts and teach us the process in creating your own bargello quilts. What looks difficult to achieve can be pieced simply with a few tricks!

October 2018 — Handmade Christmas gifts and decorations. Everyone will be bringing their Christmas gifts and decorations in for sharing.

November 2018 — Nan Johnson’s program will be on creating baskets with clotheslines and fabric strips to create fabulous baskets and totes.

December 2018 – Christmas party, Annual challenge show-n-tell and charity projects due
